{"id":1587,"date":"2012-06-01T02:51:01","date_gmt":"2012-06-01T02:51:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/arthritisaustralia.com.au\/wordpress\/governor-general-reception-admiralty-house-sydney-211010\/"},"modified":"2017-09-25T06:20:56","modified_gmt":"2017-09-25T06:20:56","slug":"governor-general-reception-admiralty-house-sydney-211010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.arthritisaustralia.org.au\/wordpress\/governor-general-reception-admiralty-house-sydney-211010\/","title":{"rendered":"Governor-General Reception &#8211; Admiralty House, Sydney : 21\/10\/10"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6>On Thursday 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0October the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and patron to Arthritis Australia, Her Excellency Quentin Bryce, held our Benefactor Awards at Sydney&#8217;s Admiralty House in Kirribilli.<\/p>\n<p>Arthritis Australia holds the Benefactor Awards annually to recognise the support given to the organisation through donations, bequests, voluntary work and services in-kind.<\/p>\n<h4>This year there were a number of individuals acknowledged for their contribution to our organisation.\u00a0 They are as follows:<\/h4>\n<\/h6>\n<h3><strong>Kilimanjaro Ascent Team<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Matthew Leibowitz<\/li>\n<li>Peter Collins<\/li>\n<li>Jonathan Shapiro<\/li>\n<li>Daniel Been<\/li>\n<li>Jeremy Unger<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Matthew Leibowitz, who has ankylosing spondylitis, led 19 people in an inspirational assault on Africa&#8217;s Mount Kilimanjaro. Among the group were Matthew&#8217;s friends &#8211; Jonathan Shapiro, Daniel Been, Peter Collins and Jeremy Unger &#8211; his rheumatologist, Dr Jim Bertouch, and the Chair of Rheumatology at the University of Sydney, Professor Philip Sambrook.
