2025 marked another impactful year for our That\u2019s a Wrap campaign, the results once again prove the power of our community\u2019s voice in driving change for accessible packaging. Each year, your experiences help shine a spotlight on where progress is needed most.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

5. Induction Seals<\/strong> – Peeling off seals often demands painful levels of grip and dexterity, leaving many wondering why such a small step can create such a big barrier.<\/p>

4. Medicine Bottles<\/strong> \u00a0– \u201cIt\u2019s the packaging that keeps me from my own medication.\u201d Child-resistant caps continue to test patience and hands for many in our community, proving that safety shouldn\u2019t come at the cost of accessibility.<\/p>

3. Water Bottles<\/strong> – \u201cI have to open them with my garlic crusher and twist the lid.\u201d Tight caps on supposedly convenient bottles continue to frustrate users, highlighting how even everyday essentials can be exclusionary, especially without aids or tools you might go to at home.<\/p>

2. Jars<\/strong> – \u201cThe lid is so tight and hard to twist, but the jar is also really wide so I can\u2019t get a good grip on it either.\u201d Many resort to risky tactics like tapping the jar lid on the bench to release pressure, one participant admitted this went badly wrong, saying she \u201cslashed her hand pretty badly\u201d when the glass slipped. A moment meant for cooking or sharing food shouldn\u2019t end in injury.<\/p>

1. The \u201cWinner\u201d – Medicine Blister Packs<\/strong> – For both human and animal medication, the struggle is the same. \u201cThe packaging often splits, and I frequently cut my fingers on the sharp edges.\u201d Others shared, \u201cIt\u2019s super hard to pop out, the irony that people in pain use these and get pain doing so.\u201d From foil blisters with stiff cardboard backing to packs requiring knives to pierce through, these designs are turning daily medication into a dangerous obstacle.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Best Packaging of 2025<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The top spot this year went to Kellogg\u2019s single-serve cereal packs, nominated by our community for being simple and easy to tear open, and we couldn\u2019t agree more, as it\u2019s also one of our Easy to Open Certified products<\/a>. Other standout mentions included egg cartons (last year\u2019s winner), rectangular twist-top coffee jar caps, the easy-grip tab on The British Sausage Co. bacon packaging, Lindt chocolate blocks, Sensodyne toothbrush packs and some select milk packaging.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

While it\u2019s encouraging to see these improvements, many \u201cbest\u201d nominations still came with comments like \u201ccould be better\u201d or \u201cat least I can use scissors without the product falling out.\u201d It\u2019s a clear reminder that expectations remain modest and that more work is needed to make packaging truly accessible for everyone.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
